A Sense of Place

Turn a corner, behold a vista, curl up in a window seat, hike an unknown trail - whether we seek out compelling places or they attach themselves to us through some sort of environmental seduction - these are places that stay with us heart and mind, sometimes for our whole life.  For an artist, they also clamor for attention whenever subject matter is being considered.  

Paintings of places are generally known as landscapes but I think there is more to describing the sense of a place in paint than that term alone implies.  Having said that, these are some of my places, but feel free to call them landscapes.
